I took a chance with these colours, they are not my usual colour range. However, as I progressed on my knitting, and playing with different width stripes, and colour combinations, magic unfolded. the comments were numerous, maybe as surprised as I was with this, to me, unusual combination of colours. I have put together 9 cowgirlblues colours, as close to the original colours in my scarf, but of course feel free to add and play with more colour. I will write up the stripe sequence to half way, and then you can repeat it in the reverse, or get creative and play with your own combinations. Started by Bridget Henderson, who after an MBA at Insead, a stint at Luis Vuitton Moet Hennessy in Paris, and a successful career as a strategy consultant returned to Cape Town and took up knitting again, experimenting with texture, patterns and colour. Frustrated at not being able to find suitable wool locally, she decided to start spinning and dyeing her own, and so the cowgirlblues brand was born. 50 g = 150 metres 4 ply/Sock Weight 100% Wool: superwash Merino Needle Size: 3,5mm The pattern is a free pattern – I used the Advent Scarf pattern (starts with Judy’s Magic cast on – two circulars are useful here). There is also another pattern called the Kilometre Scarf (but be aware this pattern is for dk weight yarn so you may have to adjust stitch count) – this features a Turkish cast on, this is a less fussy method but produces a looser result (can be a little untidy compared to Judy’s magic cast on)
